A brief discussion of Rangers prospects in World Juniors

The world juniors have come and gone and Canada won gold once again. Although this year was more critical because three Rangers prospects were on the gold-winning team. These three prospects were Will Cuylle forward, Brennan Othmann forward, and goalie Dylan Garand.

The three of these players weren’t necessarily just passengers on the ride either they were all key pieces to the success of the Canadian team. Not only in the scoresheets but also in a physical aspect.

Although that is not the main point of this. My main reason for writing this article is to look into how this experience can affect the players as they move into a position to then become mainstays on the Rangers roster.

These three players just went through a playoff atmosphere and escaped the pressure with a first-place finish. Even though it isn’t an NHL playoff atmosphere it still matters as an experience for a player.

It is the biggest stage that these players have played on and all three of them delivered.

I do think having this experience will be a big help for these players as they look to take the next step onto the NHL roster. In a time when the Rangers are going to be in desperate need of quality players at cheap prices, these players will be the future.

The experience they’ve gained will be hugely valuable to them and to the rangers in the future. I can not wait until these guys are in MSG under the bright lights again.
